MELVILLE, NY--The Long Island chapter of the US Green Building Council will host its third-annual Building Green Gala on April 28, 2010, at the Long Island Marriott and Conference Center in Uniondale.
At this event the USGBC-LI will honor Michael Dowling, President and Chief Executive Officer at North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System, for his visionary leadership in developing and implementing healthier, more efficient building standards and practices at his organization’s facilities across Long Island and New York City. Leslie Segrete, star designer and host of The Money Pit radio program and soon to appear on $100 Makeover on the A&E television network, will be the MC for the event.
The Gala will begin with a cocktail networking reception followed by dinner and award presentation to Dowling. The event will include a silent auction, raffle and multimedia presentation of notable green building projects on Long Island.
Funds raised by this event will go to support the USGBC-LI’s mission to improve quality of life for Long Islanders by enhancing the structures that are built. Specifically, the organization seeks to fund annual scholarships and support its many educational programs.
Gala sponsorships and raffle donation opportunities are available. Sponsors will receive recognition online throughout 2010, in Long Island print publications, and at the event itself. The deadline for sponsorships is Friday, April 16th.
