NEWARK, NJ--CoreNetNJ, (Corporate Real Estate Executives Network of New Jersey) the New Jersey State Chapter of CoreNet Global, has scheduled a CoRE Curriculum educational workshop for Tuesday, May 6, 2008, from 8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.
The session will be held at the Eisenhower Corporate Campus, 290 West Mount Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, New Jersey.
The May program will focus on “The Energy Challenge – A New Agenda for Corporate Real Estate” and will be presented by Theddi Wright Chappell, Managing Director of Advisory Services, Pacific Security Capital.
Chappell will discuss why companies fail to take advantage of many of the low cost and no-cost solutions to reduce energy utilization. He will also address best practices to reduce energy consumption, overcome barriers to improved energy efficiency, and methods to assess the potential impact that energy efficient strategies may have on the corporate portfolio.
This forum is designed for real estate professionals responsible for or involved with new base building construction, multiple construction, build-out and/or alteration projects. The course is also designed for corporate real estate professionals who need to enhance and update their knowledge of project management, new techniques and the latest methodology for enhancing energy efficiency.
“Energy efficient building operation is not only a key factor in profitability, but is a current trend that with wide acceptance in the marketplace,” stated Eric Friedman, Program Chairman for CoreNetNJ. “As green building gains momentum in this country, prospective tenants are seeking out buildings that maximize the use of energy.”
Theddi Wright Chappell is CEO of Sustainable Values, Inc., a consulting practice specializing in market, feasibility and investment analysis, specifically related to the valuation and financing of new, existing, and urban redevelopment projects, as well as the identification and quantification of the benefits of sustainable development. She has extensive experience with both national and international corporate and institutional clients, having completed assignments throughout the US, in Canada, Australasia and Europe.
