WOODBRIDGE, NJ--The Northern New Jersey District Council of the Urban Land Institute will hold a program entitled "Financing Green: How To Pay For and Incentivize Sustainable Investment In the Garden State."
The program will be held from 3 to 6 p. m. on Thursday, April 24, at the Woodbridge Hilton.
The panel will consist of two members of the appraisal/financing industry, William Lashbrook III, senior vice president of PNC Bank, and Mario Silvestri, senior real estate evaluator at Wachovia Bank, and two developer/owners, Brian Cohen, vice president of Navy Yard Development & Marketing for Liberty Property Trust and David Welch, chief financial officer of SJP Properties. A representative from PSEG will also participate to discuss its new financing program for solar energy projects.
The panelists will discuss economic issues related to green building, especially commercial green building, such as operating performance, tenant interest and education and the green retrofitting of existing buildings. The program will also explore whether the benefits of green buildings are financeable.
Lashbrook was the recipient on behalf of PNC of ULI-NNJ's 2007 Leadership In Land Use Award for green building. PNC leads the state in eco-friendly development with 16 "Green Branch" locations in New Jersey and is a world leader in green building, with 42 environmentally friendly buildings.
The green financing program is one of an on-going series of programs sponsored by ULI-NNJ, the local chapter of a worldwide non-profit education and research organization with more than 34,000 members whose mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of the land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities.
