HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ-- Pat La Corte and Pradeep Kapoor of Green Economics/DMR Architects were recently appointed vice chairs of the United States Green Building Council's (USGBC) Northern Branch. Their responsibilities include soliciting members and meeting location venue selections.
The United States Green Building Council's purpose is to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, in order to environmentally improve the overall quality of life. The USGBC offers a program called the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®),
which acts as a guide in helping buildings become sustainable. Site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality are key areas in which the USGBC is setting out to accomplish their purpose.
