PHILADELPHIA-- Cubellis, a national architectural, interior design, and engineering firm with offices in Philadelphia and New Jersey, and The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey
have announced the college's F-wing Expansion has been awarded LEED(TM) Certification by the US Green Building Council (USGBC).
LEED is the USGBC's leading edge system for designing and constructing green, energy efficient, high performing buildings.
The F-Wing Expansion provides additional classrooms and faculty offices within the academic core of the Stockton campus. A central feature of the addition is the sky-lit, two-story atrium, which adds a large public gathering space to the building and provides daylight to the interior of the F-Wing.
The F-Wing Expansion was designed to achieve LEED Certification for energy use, lighting, water and material use as well as incorporating a variety of other sustainable strategies. LEED verifies environmental performance, occupant health and financial return. LEED was established for market leaders to design and construct buildings that protect and save precious resources while also making good economic sense.
The College's strong sustainability credentials include its sensitive land use of the environmentally fragile Pinelands campus, nationally recognized excellence in environmental studies programs, and early adoption of innovative technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuel use, including geothermal heating and cooling, solar panels, and the
new Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage System.
