NEW YORK--The Atlantic Salmon Federation will honor Dan W. Lufkin for his commitment to conservation at its 25th Annual New York Dinner celebration at Cipriani 42nd Street on November 7.
A graduate of Yale and Harvard Business School, Lufkin was a founding member of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), Inc. and co-founder of Questor I & II (private development capital companies). He currently serves on the boards of a number of public and private companies and has been recognized by such organizations as the American Bar Association, American Institute of Architects, and the Newcomen Society, among others.
Formerly a trustee of The Nature Conservancy, The National Audubon Society, the National Parks Foundation and the Environmental Defense Fund, among others, Lufkin currently serves on the boards of the Quebec-Labrador Foundation, the Atlantic Salmon Federation, the American Farmland Trust and the Conservation Fund. He was one of the organizers of the first Earth Day in 1970, and was the first Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection for the state of Connecticut.
Founded in 1948, the Atlantic Salmon Foundation is one of North America’s oldest charitable conservation organizations. The ASF is devoted to saving wild Atlantic salmon and their environment.
