EPA Fails To Announce Decision on Passaic By Jodi LaMarco

The EPA has once again postponed its decision for the method of clean-up that will be used to remedy the Passaic River's pollution problem.

Regional administrator for the EPA, Alan Steinberg, said that the decision depends on information yet to be reviewed, and that the organization will probably delay its proposal until after next summer instead of next month.

"This is a major defeat for this poor river," said Ella Filippone, executive director of the Passaic River Coalition.
