A Kinder, Gentler EPA Posted By Jodi LaMarco

Xerox held an EPA workshop on Wednesday at its Webster campus to encourage companies around NY state to take part in voluntary environmental programs.

In the past, the EPA has mainly concentrated its efforts on enforcing laws, but has recently begun urging manufacturers to take the initiative to go green.

The Performance Track program caters to companies already implementing eco-friendly practices, and the Environmental Priorities program is designed for manufacturers seeking to reduce their use of chemicals and metals.
