Vehicle Emissions Down for 2005 By Jodi LaMarco

Environmental Defense claims that CO2 emissions from new cars and light trucks declined by three percent in the U.S. in 2005.

Greenhouse gas emissions from all U.S. vehicles rose two percent every year between 1990 and 2004, but only hit 0.4 percent in 2005. The report attributes the drop to higher gas prices and stricter CAFE regulations for light trucks.
