Your Gas Will Never Be the Same By Jodi LaMarco

On September 1, 2007, the first U.S. renewable fuels program is scheduled to go into effect.

Under the Energy Protection Act of 2005, 4.02 percent of fuel sold within the United States must now be derived from renewable sources.

Refiners, importers, and other industries will need to meet minimum requirements for renewable fuel quotas until the target goal of 7.5 billion gallons nationwide is reached in 2012.
