Less People, Less Pollution By Jodi LaMarco

China claims that its one-child policy has helped to offset the country's contribution to global warming by limiting population growth.

The developing nation says that its population is now 1.3 billion but could have been 1.6 billion if birth limits had not been imposed.

Less people means the expenditure of less fossil fuels, however, many nations agree that the Chinese government still needs to do more to curb the country-wide emissions of greenhouse gases.
