GM Seeks To Improve Fuel Efficiency

General Motors is testing a process of combustion that may improve fuel efficiency by as much as 15 percent.
The new process is referred to as "homogeneous-charge compression ignition," and is being used in the Saturn Aura and Opal Vectra, two of GM's concept models.
