LIPA May Blow Off Wind Turbine Plan By Jodi LaMarco

The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) may scrap a proposed wind turbine project after reviewing research which indicated that the price tag of the offshore farm could reach nearly $811 million.

The plan calls for 40 turbines to be built 4.1 miles south of Long Island's coast, and would provide enough electricity to power 44,000 homes.
