Gone With the Wind

Research conducted by Peter Webster of the Georgia Institute of Technology and Greg Holland of the National Center for Atmospheric Research has linked global warming with an increase in the number of hurricanes over the past one hundred years.
The study found that the number of Atlantic hurricanes has risen and remained constant during three periods over the last century.
"We are led to the confident conclusion that the recent upsurge in the tropical cyclone frequency is due in part to greenhouse warming, and this is most likely the dominant effect," said the authors of the study.
