Wind Wins
By Jodi LaMarco
Bejing is constructing 33 windmills in time for the 2008 Olympics, and the Chinese Olympic Committee has said it wants at least 20 percent of the electricity used for the games to be generated by the new power source.
The turbines will supply the city with approximately 100 million kwh of electricity annually. According to China Daily, the project will also reduce CO2 emissions by 10 million tons per year.
