Cayenne Hybrid By Jodi LaMarco

Porsche AG says it wants to make the Cayenne SUV more efficient by reducing its fuel consumption by approximately one-third.

The Cayenne is expected to use 8.9 liters of gas per 100 kilometers as opposed to the current amount of 12.9 liters.

Stricter rules imposed by the European Commission will go into effect by mid-2008, forcing car makers to adopt higher standards for exhaust emissions.
