Green In a Box By Jodi LaMarco

Three scientists from Wales have invented a device they claim could be affixed to an automobile in place of an exhaust pipe to trap and store emissions.

The captured greenhouse gases could then be taken to a plant where it would be converted into biofuel using genetically modified algae.

The inventors, organic chemist Derek Palmer and engineers Ian Houston and John Jones say that the "Greenbox" has maintained a capture rate of between 85 and 95 percent in tests performed over the past two years. The trio hopes that the technology may eventually be used for factories and power plants as well.
