Milan Drivers Get Taxed By Jodi LaMarco

Drivers in Milan will soon be subject to a daily charge for entering the city's historic district in an effort to cut exhaust emissions by half.

The 10-euro fee will be imposed during a one year trial intended to control the 89,000 automobiles that drive through the historic center on weekdays. Milan's mayor Letizia Moratti said, "Today we have approved an important measure for the protection of the environment and citizens' health."
