GM to Use Clean Diesel
By Jodi LaMarco
General Motors' Vice Chairman Bob Lutz announced that the company will begin using clean diesel engines in its cars, SUVs, and trucks by 2010.
The new emissions systems are expected to cost consumers an additional $2,000 to $2,800 per vehicle. American car companies are being forced to develop cleaner-running automobiles in order to comply with new government regulations regarding nitrogen oxide and particulate matter emissions effective for 2008 models.
