British Columbia, Manitoba, and the Campo Kumeyaay Nation in California have joined 31 U.S. states to form the Climate Registry, the largest American-based attempt to uniformly track and report levels of greenhouse gases, starting in January of 2008.
Participation by companies and organizations is voluntary, but does require data to be verified by a third party group—unlike the registry organized by the U.S. Department of Energy, which does not require information to be verified by an outside source.
